ABOUT

The band were formed in January of 2019, the brainchild of our musical director John Bryce & his fiancee (at the time) Pamela Mackin. Based in Carluke, Scotland, it has it's roots firmly in the Clydesdale area, The membership, currently standing in the 60's, ranges in age from 9 - 70 years of age & is drawn from all walks of life. Some of our players are in the early stages of their musical journeys & some are accomplished musicians with many years experience. In addition, we have a number of players, who have returned to playing after long breaks, some over 30 years!

John Bryce & Pamela Mackin

The band is honoured to have Mr John Bryce as their Musical Director. John who is currently a Music Instructor within a local authority has had success throughout his musical career both as an Instructor and Conductor. He has conducted various school concert bands, orchestras and ensembles as well as all three concert bands within the South Lanarkshire Orchestral Society. He was also extremely successful within Carluke Primrose Orchestral Flutes, winning various conducting awards both nationally and internationally.

We are also privileged to have John's wife Pamela, as the band's Administrator on a part-time basis. She will be responsible for the day to day running of the band and all administrative duties.
